What Is a Mini E-Beam Evaporator?
A mini e-beam evaporator uses a focused electron beam to heat and vaporise source material directly, producing high-purity thin films with tighter control than a resistive thermal evaporator. Because the heat stays localised to the evaporant rather than spreading through a boat or filament, substrate heating is minimised, making it well suited to lift-off processes, delicate resists and high-melting-point metals such as niobium and tungsten. The EVAP series is available in three configurations to match different chamber sizes and process needs, all fully UHV compatible.

Yes, the EVAP-4 and EVAP-4C both support independent co-evaporation from all four pockets simultaneously, useful for alloy deposition and multilayer stacks.

Is it suitable for an existing UHV chamber?
Yes, it's supplied standalone and is a common addition to existing MBE or HV/UHV systems, or can be built into a full PVD system on request.
