AlbaSci will be attending the Einstein Telescope Vacuum and Cryogenics Industry Workshop, taking place 21–22 April 2026 at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland, hosted in the Kjell Johnsen Auditorium. The event brings together leading European research institutes and industry specialists involved in designing the vacuum and cryogenic systems for the Einstein Telescope, a next-generation gravitational wave detector currently under development in Europe.
The workshop provides a platform for researchers, engineers, and companies working in vacuum and cryogenic technologies to discuss the technical challenges and opportunities associated with large-scale scientific infrastructure.
Key topics that will be explored during the event include:
Vacuum beampipes, covering approximately 120 km of ultra-high vacuum (UHV) systems
Vacuum towers, with more than 300 structures planned as part of the telescope infrastructure
Cryogenic technologies required to support the performance of the detector systems
The event aims to connect the institutes designing these systems with European companies specialising in vacuum engineering and cryogenic technologies, encouraging knowledge exchange between academia, research facilities, and industry.
